Ingredients:1 KG lean diced beef4 onions1 KG potatoes (floury)Butter100ml milkPreparation:Dice the beef, if not cut already.Mix the meat with the ‘mix voor hachee’ and allow it to marinade.Heat a frying pan and add oil or butter. Sear the meat so it’s browned on all sides. Turn the heat up and add 200ml water. Allow 1.5 hours gently stew. Periodically check whether there is enough water in the pan, add a little extra if it starts to boil dry. Slice the onions into rings, add to the meat and cook for half an hour on a gentle simmer. Peel the potatoes, boil and mash, adding the ‘mix voor gekruide puree’ along with warm milk and a knob of butter. Stir well.
